Define the mission. Agree the autonomy. Deliver the result.
Some matters are too important to remain unattended, but they do not need to continue occupying the decision-maker’s daily agenda.
An assignment allows you to delegate a specific mission to someone experienced, with clear boundaries agreed autonomy and accountability for moving it forward.
The scope can vary significantly. The common thread: someone accountable for moving the issue forward.
“I have an unconventional challenge that does not fit a typical role or project, but I need someone experienced to structure it and move it forward.”
Leadership development and support, service design, mentor or specialist networks, dashboards and simple management systems — always with a clear objective and a pragmatic approach.
“I have an opportunity under review and need an independent assessment before moving ahead.”
Opportunities, new businesses, business units or investments — understanding the potential, risks and conditions for moving forward.
“I know the business needs to change, but we need to structure priorities and lead that transformation.”
Reorganisation, recovery, repositioning or consolidation — aligning diagnosis, priorities, team and execution.
“I need to prepare the business and present the opportunity in a solid and credible way to potential investors.”
Business case, narrative, metrics, presentation materials, pitch and information organisation for investor conversations.
“I want to find a partner, assess an acquisition or explore a strategic transaction, but I need someone dedicated to the process.”
Identification of partners or targets, acquisitions, mergers or collaborations, structuring the rationale and supporting the approach between parties.
“I need someone experienced to follow this matter closely and represent my interests.”
Close follow-up, independent analysis, liaison with management and stakeholders, and regular reporting to the principal.
It is the temporary delegation of a concrete mission to someone accountable for moving it forward.
For a previously defined mission.
At the level of delegation intended.
And structured handling of complex matters.
Between strategy, information, people and stakeholders.
When the assignment requires it.
Focused on the decision points that matter.
With constant focus on the outcome.
We define the mission, the degree of autonomy and the expected result. From there, I move it forward.
Every assignment starts by clarifying the mission, the expected result, the limits of action, the stakeholders involved and the points that require the client’s decision.
From there, I take responsibility for moving the assignment forward: structuring the work, gathering and analysing information, coordinating the relevant parties, preparing materials, involving specialists when useful and ensuring continued progress.
The level of autonomy is agreed from the outset. The decision-maker keeps control of the essential decisions without having to manage the day-to-day process.
The objective is simple: take the matter off your agenda without taking it out of your control.
